Mit insgesamt 12 Leuten und drei Autos starteten wir am Freitag, den 15. August in Richtung Zuid-Holland zu unserer Unterkunft im Strandpark Vlugtenburg. Diesmal gab es keine Staus und wir erreichten nach ca. sieben Stunden unsere Kajüten-Häuser.
Kurz unsere Sachen ausgepackt, einige notwendige Lebensmittel eingekauft und den nahen Strand erkundet. Das Wetter war aber sehr windig, regnerisch und eher frisch, so dass ein Bad im Meer eher unwahrscheinlich war – das sollte sich leider über die ganze Woche so hinziehen: wechselnd bewölkt, böiger Wind, ab und zu Regen und Temperaturen um die 15-20 °C.

Sa., 16.8.:
Einen kleinen Ausflug in die nahegelegene Stadt Delft unternommen. Dort den Markt und die kleinen Cafés besucht, die allerlei Leckereien bereit hielten. Abends noch einen kurzen Strandspaziergang unternommen.

So., 17.8.:
Wegen Regen besuchten wir heute einen kleinen Indoor-Spielplatz für die Kinder und im Anschluß fuhren wir noch einmal kurz an einer klassischen Windmühle vorbei. Am Abend war wieder ein schöner Spaziergang zum Meer angesagt.

Mo., 18.8.:
Heute stand ein Ausflug auf den größten Wochenmarkt Niederlandes in das nahegelegene Den Haag auf dem Programm. An einem gewöhnlichen Markttag waren dort etwa 500 Stände und durchschnittlich 40.000 Besucher. Danach fuhren wir weiter ins eigentliche Zentrum und besichtigten die Stadt.

Danach statteten wir der Strandpromenade in Scheveningen mit seinem altem Kurhaus und dem mittlerweile geschlossenem Pier noch einen Besuch ab. Der fiel aber ziemlich kurz aus, da wir von dem extrem windigen Wetter langsam Ohrenschmerzen bekamen.

Di., 19.8.:
Da das Wetter heute ein bischen besser war und die Sonne länger schien, beschlossen wir in den Freizeitpark Duinrell zu gehen. Nach ein paar Fahrten mit diversen Achterbahnen und anderen wilden Attraktionen hatte mein Gesicht schon etwas an Farbe verloren. Für einen geringen Aufpreis haben wir dann im Anschluß noch das Tikibad mit seinen etwa 20 verschiedenen Rutschen besucht, das auch direkt im Parks lag.

Mi., 20.8.:
Eine guten Stunde Autofahrt brauchten wir, um zum heutigen Tagesziel Amsterdam zu kommen. Da das Parkproblem dort ziemlich bekannt ist, entschlossen wir uns das Park & Ride Angebot zu nutzen: Etwa 9€ für fünf Personen inkl. Hin- und Rückfahrt ins Zentrum von Amsterdam. Unser Anlaufpunkt war das Ajax-Amsterdam-Stadion mit seinen etwa 500 Stellplätzen.
Vom Bahnhof Amsterdam Centraal ging es direkt gegenüber zur Grachten-Rundfahrt. Diese dauerte etwa eine Stunde und man bekam einen kleinen Einblick in die Gechichte Amsterdams – Diesmal bekam ich auch etwas davon mit 😉 Der restliche Tag bummelten wir durch schönen kleinen Straßen und fielen nach der Rückfahrt geschafft ins Bett.

Zum Abschluß des Urlaubs wurde noch einmal ein Tag bei ‚angenehmen‘ Temperaturen und Sonnenschein am Meer verbracht: etwas baden, Sandburgen bauen und auf der Decke liegen.
